I never thought I’d get this image. A client had requested a photo of Grand Prismatic Spring from the air (photo taken from a plane) with no people on the boardwalk and little steam on this gorgeous hot spring. I told him that was a pipe dream. Not going to happen. But then the opportunity came in the form of the pandemic. Thanks to the late opening of Yellowstone in 2020, I took a flight on a warm spring day only a day or two before the park actually opened in mid-May. And from this angle, Grand Prismatic Spring shows itself as a heart, pouring out all that colorful love.
